I develop IT infrastructure for small islands -- some are independent nations, others are islands with varying levels of sovereignty within existing nations. For many reasons, it makes sense to host DNS locally -- even on the smallest islands. I propose forming an alliance of members from multiple islands and establishing a consistent DNS naming system for island IT infrastructure.
